The School of Visual Arts held a reception to honor the recipients of the 2018 Alumni Scholarship Awards from the SVA Alumni Society at the school’s Chelsea Gallery last Thursday (April 12, 2018). LDI Color ToolBox was honored at this special ceremony for its contributions to the Scholarship as a Corporate Partner for The Arts.
“We are honored to support the talented students of SVA. It gives students the freedom to develop as artists, and all of the prints displayed at the ceremony were produced on equipment serviced by LDI,“ said VP of Sales, Doug Cassetta. The student’s prints were all produced using Epson, Riso and Canon ImagePRESS printers.
The donations to the SVA Scholarship help benefit the students in need of housing assistance. Student artists earned 4 years of free housing to help stave off the costs of their education and allowed many to concentrate on developing their portfolios.
6 students were chosen from a pool of over 250 applicants and were awarded scholarships worth more than $64,000 for projects as varied as narrative film, animation, painting, and sculpture.
“Current students in their final year are invited to apply for funding for their thesis or portfolio projects and applications are then evaluated by independent panels of alumni, who are always thrilled at the chance to see what students are working on,” says Miranda Pierce, development manager of Alumni Affairs and Development, who also spearheads this annual program. Each year LDI Color ToolBox makes a contribution to the Alumni Scholarship Fund to help support the school’s young talent.
